Welcome to the Maine Schutzhund Club (MSC). We welcome new members seriously interested in schutzhund training goals. If you're interested in the sport, not afraid of hard work, have good nerves yourself and a sense of humor the club would be happy to meet with you.
Prospective members will be invited to visit our club and train with us a few times before you decide if you would like to apply for membership. This gives us a chance to meet you and gives you a chance to see what we are all about.
- All membership applications, dogs and handlers, and training methods are subject to approval of the Training Director and a vote of acceptance by the Club Members.
- To be a member of MSC, you must also join and maintain membership in the parent organization, United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USA). You must provide proof of current USA membership when you pay your club dues.
- Members of MSC are actively training in all three phases of the Schutzhund sport: tracking, obedience and protection, with the goal of obtaining a Schutzhund title.
- Membership in MSC also requires volunteer time to help with trials, seminars, and other activities hosted by the club
Maine Schutzhund Club has only one type of membership, and that is a full member. Membership fees are as follows.
- Yearly Fees:
- $150 for one person with one dog.
- $20 for one additional dog.
- $100 for dogs not participating in protection training.
- Limited to two dogs per member.
